My name is Orna, I am a wife and a mother to an amazing little girl, who is my inspiration to create exciting new desserts. I am a self-taught baker and cook who uses the cultural influence of my life to develop and discover new dishes.
I was born and raised in Israel, my mother was a native of Pakistan and my dad was born in India.
Growing up the influence of food at home was Indian with a lot of the Indian traditions. I visited the little spice store with my dad was as often as I could. I have fond memories of going to The Shuk (market) in my hometown with my dad on a weekly basis. Growing up in a small community was a great way to learn about the importance of freshness in the veggies and herbs and spices we cooked with.
Outside of my home I was exposed to different types of food and culture through friends and the amazing street food in Israel. I’ve been in the USA since 2001 and all the different cultures of my past and present have fused together in my kitchen. I enjoy expressing these influences through my baking and cooking.
So what are we waiting for? Let’s step in my kitchen and create together.
From my family table to yours,
xoxo, Orna
My Kitchen
The kitchen is the heart of the home as they say and mine is no exception! The kitchen is my canvas where I explore taste and technique. Just like your kitchen, it gets messy!
